Title: How to put subtitles correctly on avi?
Post by: click66 on March 27, 2011, 09:48:16 AM
Hi guys,

Maybe this is the stupidest question or this question is asked manu times before but here I go :-):

I always used a program called AVIAddXSub for the PS3 and that coded the subtitles in the avi file so the PS3 could show them. On the WD this is different I think because in the menu it sais subtitles 1/1 but those doesn't show?

How and with what program can I add a .srt to a avi (dutch subtitles) in a way that WD can show them?

Kind regards,

You want to put .srt inside an avi container or hardcode it ? Why make it so difficult ?
Why not just put the srt file next to the movie file ? So movie.avi and movie.srt in the same folder.
If you want to make it special name the subtitle file movie.Dutch.srt if it's a Dutch subtitle file.
That way the wdtv will not list the subtitle as "Subtitle 1/1" but as "Dutch 1/1"
