Title: REQ v1.02.07 Smoother Fast Forwarding
Post by: chazz on August 08, 2009, 09:15:54 AM
Smooth out the fast forwarding view, time counter and progress bar.
-Especially needs improvement with WMV files.

Pressing play after fast forwarding sometimes results in a 2 second black screen to show up.
-Preferably it would just start playing.

Also fast forwarding would be easier with:  4x, 20x, 50x
-Maybe even allow the user to choose a default

I agree, more enhanced playback of media files would be great. if you could modify speed playback defaults as well would be even better.(eg 5x,10x,20x,50x, or search by times like 5mins,10mins,30mins, 1hour)

c'mon WD, brandloyalist ere', just bought a 'WD 1.5 my book'.. support the users!  ;)

I agree! Right after I started using my WDTV box, the FIRST thing that I noticed was that the fast forwarding and rewinding needs to be more smoother.
Also, there is a pause/hang for 2 seconds when I go back to playback mode - I think this needs to be corrected!

There is something I saw my wdtv does. If I am ffw'ing (2x let's say), if I press Next, the time goes ahead with 10 minutes each time I press the next key. If I rev (2x let's say) and press prev, the time goes Back with 10 minutes. It's a workaround to be able to jump faster to different times in the movie.

I saw this when I had 1.02.07 with ext3-boot. Now I have 1.03.01 with ext3.

Completely agree. Fast forwarding needs to be alot smoother, & to go upto x40 or 50.

Agree +1

Faster Fast forward, the max it goes is 16x, so 20x wouldnt be ideal, maybe 25x and 30x? and also smooth too..

God. I wonder when all our ideas are made public. I love that feeling :) lol

Thanks

Ive noticed that if you are fast forwarding and press the "next button" it jumps 10 minutes which can be helpful  ;D
